| Celtic Frost reformed Death Angel reformed Rush reformed. Chuck Schuldiner of Death, Voodoocult and Control Denied passed away. Slayer released God Hates Us All on 9/11. Thrash of the Titans festival was held for Chuck Billy who had cancer and Chuck Schuldiner who har a brain tumor. This led to comebacks for several thrash metal bands. 2001 was a great comeback year for thrash metal with Sodom's M-16, Kreator's Violent Revolution, Destruction's The Antichrist. Guitarist James Murphy (Death, Obituary & Testament) learned he had a massive brain tumor. |
