LINEUP CHANGES

Michael Kiske left Helloween and was replaced by Andi Deris.   Bruce Dickinson left Iron Maiden and was replaced by Blaze Bayley.   Rob Halford left Judas Priest to form the band Fight.   Alex Skolnick and Louie Clemente leaves Testament and is replaced by James Murphy and   John Tempesta. Alex Skolnick later joined Savatage to replace Chris Oliva.

IMPORTANT EVENTS

Chris Oliva of Savatage dies in a car crash.   Dio, Dokken and Atheist reforms.   Euronymous was murdered by Burzum's Varg Vikernes.   Japanese band 'X' becomes 'X Japan'.
