LINEUP CHANGES

Tim 'Ripper' Owens joined Judas Priest.   Bassist Greg Christian left Testament.   Slash left Guns 'n' Roses due to difficulties working with Axl Rose.   The original KISS lineup reforms (Frehley, Simmons, Chris & Stanley)   Sammy Hagar departs Van Halen.   Max Cavalera left Sepultura.

IMPORTANT EVENTS

The first Ozzfest is held, featuring Ozzy Osbourne, Slayer and Danzig.   Slipknot released their debut album and the rise of Nu-Metal was on it's way.   Former Saxon and Motörhead-drummer who was playing with Son of a Bitch at the time   retired from drumming after being diagnosed with arthritis.   Dave Mustaine formed his short-lived solo project MD.45. together with Lee Ving, Jimmy   Degrasso and Kelly Lemieux. They released 'The Craving' in 1996 before disbanding.
